Redmi Reportedly Developing Note 13 Series Smartphones as Successors to Note 12 Lineup

Redmi, the Chinese mobile manufacturing company, launched the Redmi Note 12 series earlier this year, featuring both 4G and 5G models with high-quality AMOLED displays. Various additions were made to the lineup, including the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition, Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition, and Redmi Note 12 Turbo. Recent speculation suggests that Redmi is now working on the successor to the Note 12 series, possibly named the Redmi Note 13.

An ITHome report indicates that a new Redmi model has been discovered on the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) website, fueling speculation that it could be part of the upcoming Redmi Note 13 series. However, there is currently no official information or industry leaks to corroborate this claim. It is important to approach this news with caution as Xiaomi, Redmi's parent company, often releases smartphones under different brand names. In some cases, Redmi phones launched in China are rebranded and introduced as Poco smartphones, another subsidiary of Xiaomi.

Considering the recent launch of the Note 12 series and its variants, it is unlikely that Redmi will release the Note 13 models in the near future. Typically, phone manufacturers allow at least a year's gap between two successive series. Therefore, it is expected that the Redmi Note 13 series will likely become available in early 2024.

The Redmi Note 12 5G series, launched in January, includes models such as Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G, and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G. In India, the base model with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at Rs. 17,999. The mid-range Pro model starts at Rs. 24,999 for its 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, while the high-end Pro+ begins at Rs. 29,999 for its 8GB RAM and 256GB storage option.

Additionally, Redmi introduced the Note 12 4G variant in March, listed at EUR 229 (approximately Rs. 20,400) for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage configuration. In April, the Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G was unveiled, priced at IDR 4,599,000 (around Rs. 25,000) for the base model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.
