Actor Deepak Paladka has entered film production with the upcoming Konkani movie Wheel Chair. Billed as “A Different Love Story”, the film is being produced by Melwin D’Souza Angelore, Deepak Paladka and Harry Fernandes Barkur under the Deepa Creations Film Production banner.
Deepak Paladka Takes on a New Role as Producer
Deepak Paladka, known as an actor in regional entertainment, is expanding his involvement in cinema by joining the production team of Wheel Chair. The project marks a new step in his film journey and brings him together with Melwin D’Souza Angelore and filmmaker Harry Fernandes Barkur as producers.
The announcement adds interest to the Konkani film industry, where independent producers play a major role in creating and promoting stories rooted in the language and culture of the coastal region.
What Is the Wheel Chair Konkani Movie About?
The makers have introduced Wheel Chair with the tagline “A Different Love Story”. The official poster places an empty wheelchair at the centre of a coastal setting, with a church and palm trees visible in the background.
The visual suggests that the wheelchair will have an important connection to the film’s central relationship. However, the production team has not yet revealed a detailed plot, character descriptions or cast information. It would therefore be premature to describe the exact story based only on the poster.
Harry Fernandes Barkur Leads the Creative Team
Harry Fernandes Barkur has taken responsibility for the story, screenplay, dialogues and direction. He is also one of the film’s three producers. This gives him a central role in shaping both the creative direction and production of the project.
Mayur R Shetty is the director of photography. Roshan D’Souza Patson Pereira is composing the music. Prem Karel D’Souza serves as production controller, while Roshan Serrao is the finance controller.

Why the Wheel Chair Announcement Matters
Wheel Chair arrives at a time when Konkani filmmakers continue to explore new subjects while working with limited theatrical reach compared with larger film industries. A title built around a wheelchair also creates the possibility of a story involving disability, caregiving, resilience or an unconventional relationship.
Those themes remain possibilities rather than confirmed story details. The makers have only identified the project as a different love story. More information will become clear when the cast, teaser and official synopsis are released.
Deepak Paladka’s move into production could also help him take a larger role in developing Konkani content. His involvement as one of three producers is the key confirmed development from the announcement.
Release Date and Cast
The makers have not announced the theatrical release date or complete cast of Wheel Chair. Details about the shooting schedule, filming locations, lead actors, teaser and music launch are also awaited.
Until an official update is issued, release dates or cast names circulating without confirmation should not be treated as final.
