The accident occurred when Jayanthi, a resident of Moodbidri in the Dakshina Kannada district, fell from her scooter near Konaje. The injuries she sustained required immediate surgery and extensive ongoing treatment. Despite their best efforts, Jayanthi’s family has been unable to gather the Rs. 20,00,000 needed to pay for her medical care.

Chaithra Kotian, Jayanthi's daughter, has made a public appeal for help. "My mother is the backbone of our family, always caring for my sick father and my sister and me. Without financial support, it is impossible for us to afford the medical help she needs," Chaithra said. "We are from a poor financial background, and the burden of these expenses is overwhelming."
