A fresh controversy has surfaced around an upcoming film Jana Nayagan starring Vijay after sharp eyed viewers claimed that an action sequence appears to have been generated using Google’s Gemini AI tool.
Jana Nayagan Gemini Controversy
Social media users began sharing screenshots from the trailer and leaked clips, pointing to a visible Gemini watermark during an action scene. The watermark is reportedly seen at the 0.23 second mark, where a man holding a gun appears on screen with the Gemini logo clearly visible in the right corner.
The discovery quickly went viral, with users questioning whether artificial intelligence was used to create or enhance action shots instead of traditional VFX work. Many expressed surprise that such a watermark was not removed before release, calling it a major oversight by the makers.
Gemini AI used in Jana Nayagan
While some fans defended the team, suggesting the clip could be a temporary reference or pre visualisation shot, others criticised the production for allegedly relying on generative AI without transparency. The debate has also reopened discussions about ethical AI usage, originality, and credit in the Indian film industry.
As of now, the film’s production team has not issued an official clarification regarding the Gemini watermark or the use of AI tools in the movie. The incident has nonetheless ignited wider conversations online about how emerging AI platforms are quietly entering mainstream cinema production.
