Kannada actor Darshan has been arrested by Kamakshi Palya police in connection with the murder of Renuka Swamy. According to media reports, Swamy, who worked at a medical shop and hailed from Chitradurga, was allegedly killed by Darshan’s bouncers in his presence. The motive behind the murder appears to be linked to obscene messages Swamy reportedly sent to actress Pavithra Gowda.
The incident came to light when Swamy's body was discovered on Saturday, a month after his death. It was found in a state of decay, being consumed by dogs, near Darshan’s residence in Kamakshi Palya. A security guard from a nearby apartment complex noticed the scene and alerted the authorities. The police quickly responded and began an investigation.
Using Renuka Swamy's Call Detail Records (CDR) and social media accounts, investigators traced the connection to Darshan and his associates. This led to the arrest of a total of ten people, including Darshan. The obscene messages sent to Pavithra Gowda were a critical piece of evidence in the case.
Rumors have been circulating about a possible affair between Darshan and Pavithra Gowda, adding another layer of complexity to the situation. Darshan’s wife, Vijaya Lakshmi, had previously criticized Pavithra Gowda publicly over a controversial Instagram post. In a social media post, Vijaya Lakshmi shared photos of Pavithra with another man, Sanjay Singh, questioning Pavithra's character and moral standing. She accused Pavithra of pursuing personal needs and agenda, despite knowing that Darshan was a married man.
Vijaya Lakshmi also mentioned legal action against those attempting to tarnish her family's reputation. She emphasized the need to protect her family's interests and spoke out against the negative image being portrayed in the media. This scandal has garnered significant attention, highlighting the intricate personal and professional conflicts within the Kannada film industry.
